Leogang is located over the other side of the mountains from the Glemm valley on the road between Saalfelden and St Johann in Tirol. Fieberbrunn, the new addition to the linked ski area, is in the same valley as Leogang.
As such it can be a more convenient way into the Saalbach-Hinterglemm ski circuit for those arriving from the north and the small villages along the road have an entirely different atmosphere from the après-ski centres of the main Glemm valley resorts.
The lifts connecting into the main Saalbach-Hinterglemm ski area are located in the hamlets of Hütten and Rain. They both link into the lifts under the Wildenkarkogel.
The older of the two gondolas, the Asitzbahn, leaves from Hütten (the hamlet closer to the Tyrol side of things). Runs come back down to the base of the Leogang side here.
The newer Steinbergbahn gondola leaves from the hamlet of Rain not far from the train station. This provides access into the main ski area but it is not possible to ski to the bottom of this lift.
