air travel to alpbach
Innsbruck airport has by far the shortest transfer time to Alpbach, but both Munich and Salzburg airports are also easily accessible through the motorway connections.
Innsbruck
Airport
Alpbach is around 45 minutes' journey from Innsbruck airport. The trip along the Inn valley motorway is a short one until the junction at Brixlegg and Kramsach. The road then heads up past Reith bei Alpbach into the Alpbach valley.
Innsbruck has a wide selection of charter flights which mainly arrive on the weekend, as well as a good choice of scheduled flights including some of the low-cost carriers to the UK and Vienna.
Salzburg
Airport
Salzburg Airport is under two hours away from Alpbach. There is a choice of routes: one uses the road through the "German corner" near the airport and then via Lofer and St Johann out to Wörgl and then back onto the Inn valley motorway. This can be a trickier journey in bad weather and there is an alternate choice which is virtually motorway all the way via the German Autobahn to the junction with the Munich-Inn valley motorway north of Rosenheim.
Munich
Airport
Munich Airport is located around two hours away from Alpbach. The airport is situated to the north of the city, and the motorway network which bypasses Munich to the east and then heads down to Rosenheim, where it joins up with the motorway from Salzburg, and the border at Kufstein.
