Winter in the Bregenzerwald 2021

Enjoy the slopes and hillsides of the Bregenzerwald in the Vorarlberg, explore the winter hiking trails, and admire the surprising combination of traditional and contemporary wooden architecture.

The Bregenzerwald is home to 23 charming villages. Some are in the middle of a ski area, others are close by. The 3Täler ski pass is valid for all ski areas and also for the ski buses. Thanks to the short distances, you can easily try out a different ski area every day.

Those who prefer other winter activities can go on a ski tour, go cross-country skiing, or set out with hiking boots or snowshoes. Guided excursions into the quiet winter countryside take place regularly. The chefs here understand creative cuisine: regional and inventively refined dishes are served in the numerous excellent restaurants and inns.

NEW: The “Seven Summits Freetour Mellau”, a combination of freeriding and ski touring, will be offered for the first time in winter 2021/22. Accompanied by a guide, the participants climb seven summits over three days and enjoy wonderful descents in deep powder snow. The tour will take place from 27 to 29 January 2022 and from 21 to 23 March 2022.

NEW: The “Culinary Winter Hikes” are a real treat. The day tours, which can be booked individually at Bregenzerwald Tourismus, lead step by step from course to course and include breakfast, lunch and dessert – the meals are served in mountain inns or restaurants. Hiking routes in Mellau-Bizau-Bezau and Sibratsgfäll-Schönenbach are available. New additions from winter 2021/22 are culinary hiking routes on the sunny high plateau of Sulzberg and in the high-altitude village of Damüls.

NEW: “Winter delights in the Bregenzerwald”: The package deal with a discount includes 4 nights (Sunday to Thursday) or 3 nights (Thursday to Sunday) plus a voucher for a culinary winter hike of your choice – there are 4 different routes. Those who holiday during the week can benefit from a bonus night or day.
