The Silvretta Montafon ski area in Vorarlberg has expanded its range of ski slopes with a new, weather-protected valley run.
Skiers in the Silvretta Montafon ski area can now take a new, seven-and-a-half kilometre long, snow-covered downhill run to Gaschurn in the valley after riding up in the Versettla cable car.
Up until now, there was only one ski trail for runs down into the valley and this was only open to skiers for a few weeks in winter. This now means that queues to descend in the Versettla lift should now be a thing of the past.
The new slope is also an attractive bad weather option. Sections of it run through the forest and, protected from the weather, it is a good option when visibility is restricted at the top of the mountain.
