A New Gondola Lift in Itter-Hopfgarten

The SkiWelt Hopfgarten-Itter have announced a new lift project in Itter to replace the current Salvista gondola.

It is scheduled to go ahead for winter 20/21 so this season will be the last with the 4-person gondola in service at the moment.

The new gondola, projected to cost €24m, will be a modern 10-seater which will have a mid-station at the Kraftalm and will be around 650m longer than the current lift, arriving at the Kleine Salve.

The original Salvista lift, at that time a chairlift, was built in 1984 and replaced by the current gondola two years later.

The new plans also includes a reservoir under the top station to help with snowmaking and a technical building for piste machines and other snow management equipment.
