Wagrain at a Glance

Wagrain is a well-established ski resort in the Salzburg region, located in the heart of the Ski Amade network as well as the Snow Space Salzburg. From Wagrain you can reach both the St. Johann Alpendorf as well as the Flachau Kleinarl side of the mountain. The village combines a traditional Alpine setting with direct access to one of Austria’s largest interconnected ski areas.

Wagrain is particularly popular with families, beginner and intermediate skiers, offering a good balance of skiing, village facilities and non-ski activities. The resort has developed steadily over the years and retains a relaxed atmosphere despite its strong lift connections to neighbouring areas.

About Wagrain Ski Resort

The village is spread along the valley, with modern gondolas linking Wagrain directly to Grafenberg and Griesskareck, providing fast access to the surrounding ski area. These lift connections make it possible to ski easily towards both Flachau and St. Johann–Alpendorf and beyond, while still returning easily to Wagrain at the end of the day.

Wagrain is known for its family-friendly infrastructure, including leisure facilities and a well-developed village centre. Evenings are generally more quiet than in other ski resorts, focusing on relaxation rather than nightlife.

Thanks to its central location within Ski Amadé, Wagrain works well for visitors who want extensive skiing combined with a comfortable, traditional village base.
