Driving to Kaprun

Salzburg Airport
Salzburg airport is just under 100 kilometers away. What is probably the most popular route takes the A10 motorway south from the city towards the Tauern tunnel. The motorway exit is just before Bischofshofen and heads through St Johann im Pongau and Bruck before reaching Kaprun. An alternate route on more minor roads is to cross Germany via Bad Reichenhall to Lofer and then to head south through Saalfelden and Zell am See.

Innsbruck Airport
Innsbruck Airport is not usually the main choice for skiers heading to the resort – however the wide choice of flights available to the airport and, of course, availability may dictate transfers to the resort from the Tyrol. If this is the case, the best route is along the motorway to Wörgl, then via Kitzbühel over Pass Thurn and down along the Salzach valley.

Munich Airport
Those driving themselves from Munich airport have a fairly straightforward route south towards Rosenheim and over the border past Kufstein. Probably the simplest way in winter conditions is to take the route via Wörgl, Westendorf and Pass Thurn – some of the alternate routes are via Lofer or Fieberbrunn.
