Ski Area Weekend Openings – November

Three new ski areas are taking advantage of the weather and snow conditions and opening for weekend skiing, while another high-altitude Tyrolean resort joins the list of those who have opened permanently for the winter season:

Kaltenbach-Hochfügen

The Hochzillertal ski region near the entrance to the Ziller valley is opening eight lifts from the ski areas above Kaltenbach and Hochfügen for this weekend only. The official ski opening will be next weekend and from that point they will be open every day. They are currently reporting 50cm of snow at their top stations.

SkiWelt – Scheffau

Scheffau is the first ski resort to open and the last to close in the massive SkiWelt region in Lower Tyrol. The ski area benefits from an exposure which protects the snow and they are opening weekend skiing with seven lifts and 20cm (!) of reported snow cover.

Kühtai

In the meantime, the Tyrolean ski resort of Kühtai has opened its official winter season with four lifts running and between 75 and 100cm of snow depth. Lifts will be running every day of the week from now on.

Zell am See actually opened four lifts yesterday and plans on staying open for today and tomorrow. They are reporting 70cm on the top slopes.
