Kitzbühel – 2020 Ski Season

There is a plenty happening in Kitzbühel for the winter 2020 ski season. Sports enthusiasts, night owls and lovers of good food will all find it worthwhile heading to one of the most legendary Alpine ski resorts.

Culinary Awards In Every Direction

In the current Gault&Millau 2020, Kitzbühel and the nearby villages were awarded with 21 toques distributed among 13 restaurants.

The gourmet restaurant Tennerhof in Kitzbühel celebrates its foru toques while the Winkler brothers in the Auwirt in Aurach were awarded four toques. In Kitzbnühel Lois Stern, the Neuwirt and the Bergdiele Stamperl were awarded two toques.

The restaurants with one toque include the following: Cuisino Restaurant, Zur Tenne, Chizzo, Wirtshaus zum Rehkitz – all in Kitzbühel, s’Pfandl in Reith, Hallerwirt in Aurach and Bärenbichl as well as Jodlbühel – both in Jochberg.

Trending Culinary Hotspots

From this winter, those who like Far Eastern cuisine can enjoy Japanese flair in the small Sushi Lounge Rōzu in the 5-star A-ROSA Resort Kitzbühel.

From 12 December, the first Zuma restaurant in German-speaking countries will also be offering Japanese cuisine of the highest quality in the 5-star Hotel Weisses Rössl.

The two newly opened restaurants, Gasthaus Eichenheim and Wirtshaus Steuerberg, promise a traditional atmosphere. The new, stylishly furnished Bastian’s Bar & Bakery in the Vorderstadt is ideal for breakfast, a small snack in between or simply to enjoy a cup of coffee and a homemade cake.

Kitzbühel Nightlife

For night owls, Munich’s most famous club, the P1, founded 35 years ago by Gerd Käfer, opens a branch for the winter season in the cellar of the Chizzo gourmet restaurant.

After a night of dancing, you can spend the night in the new Roomie Alps design hostel, just a few steps away and right in the centre of the town.

An Innovative Ski Lift

The campaign by the local lift company to improve uphill quality continues with the construction of the Fleckalmbahn Neu from Kirchberg. which has been in operation since 06 December. The new 10-seater gondola lift costing 27.5 million Euros offers top quality passenger comfort and state-of-the-art technology.
