The popular Tyrolean ski resort of Ischgl has announced two new chairlifts for the 2019/20 winter season.

The new detachable 6-seater chairlift Velilleck F1 will be the fastest chairlift in the ski resort, taking skiers to the Pardatschgrat in around six minutes at a speed of six metres per second.

It replaces the old 2-seater chairlift, which was finally dismantled after 41 years of service. The new Velilleck F1 extends the distance of the old lift by 1353 metres. The individual seats are extra wide at 52 centimetres, ergonomically shaped and heatable. The Velilleckbahn bottom station (2048 metres), like the old lift, is located directly on run 7.

Also new: the heatable, detachable 8-seater chairlift “Visnitz N2” is the first 8-seater “D-Line” chairlift in Switzerland and takes winter sports enthusiasts from Alp Trida to the Visnitzkopf at an altitude of 2633 metres in around four and a half minutes.
