The Epic Pass connects skiers to some of the most famous resorts in the world — from Vail and Whistler to Verbier and the Arlberg. While there’s no “Epic Pass Austria” as a separate product, pass holders can ski in Lech & St Anton am Arlberg, Sölden, Silvretta Montafon, Mayrhofen & Hintertux glacier and the Saalbach & Zell am See – Kaprun region.
This guide explains where you can use your Epic Pass in Austria, how to plan your trip, and which nearby European ski regions are also part of the Epic network.

St. Anton am Arlberg / Lech am Arlberg
The Arlberg is Austria’s largest linked ski area with more than 300 km of pistes, combining St. Anton’s legendary terrain and nightlife with Lech’s elegant charm. Modern lifts, high-altitude snow reliability, and world-famous freeride routes make it a must-ski destination for Epic Pass holders. Its only possible to ski Arlberg with Epic Pass when you book your lodging with Epic Pass.

Sölden

One of Austria’s highest resorts and home to two glaciers, Sölden guarantees snow from autumn to spring. The mix of long red runs, a lively après-ski scene, and high-tech lifts makes it ideal for confident skiers and snowboarders. Sölden has Austrias longest ski run.
Silvretta Montafon
In the western province of Vorarlberg, Silvretta Montafon offers 113 km of slopes and impressive freeride terrain above Schruns. It’s less crowded than the Arlberg but features equally modern lifts and reliable snow. Great for intermediate skiers as well as for families who want a relaxed but also sporty atmosphere.

Mayrhofen & Hintertux glacier

Skiing with the EPIC Pass in the Zillertal Valley offers on the one hand Mayrhofen, which has fun pistes and vibrant village life with great apres ski. On the other hand, the Hintertux Glacier, which opens the earliest and closes the latest. You can ski Hintertux glacier nearly 365 days a year.
Skicircus Saalbach & Zell am See-Kaprun
The Skicirus Saalbach offers 270 km of connected pistes with modern lifts, lively villages with great apres ski. Just 25 minutes away Kaprun offers glacier skiing on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier guaranteeing snow from October to May. Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See is not included.

Planning Your Epic Pass Ski Trip to Austria
Getting to Austria’s Epic Pass resort is simple, with several nearby airports offering great winter access to the Alps. The two main international gateways are Munich (MUC) and Zurich (ZRH) — both have frequent direct flights from the United States, the UK, and across Europe. Between the two, Munich is generally the more convenient choice, with more flight options and shorter transfer times to St. Anton and Lech.
If you’re already in Europe, Innsbruck Airport (INN) and Salzburg Airport (SZG) offer the most direct routes into the Austrian Alps. Innsbruck is the closest airport to the Arlberg and ideal for a short ski weekend. Another alternative is Vienna (VIE), from where you can connect by rail to Innsbruck or Salzburg in just a few hours.
Once you land in Munich, Zurich, Innsbruck or Salzburg you have three solid transportation options.
- Public transport -> check oebb.at or omio to find the best connection.
- Shared or private transfer – For a door-to-door experience, pre-book with Alps2Alps – use the promocode “SKIAUSTRIA” for a 5% discount.
- Car rentals – Ideal if you want flexibility or plan to explore more than one ski area. Compare prices on discovercars or booking.com to get the best deals.
Accommodation options range from luxury hotels in resort centres to budget-friendly guesthouses in surrounding villages. Many nearby towns are connected by regular ski buses every 10–15 minutes in the morning and afternoon.
Pro tips:
Pre-book your ski rentals online to get the best price and ensure your gear is ready when you arrive.
If you are travelling from outside the EU, your data plan will most likely not cover the Austrian internet, which can get expensive very quickly (speaking from experience!). We highly recommend getting a data plan for Austria via an eSIM. Booking trough this link with the E-Sim provide Holafly gives you a 5% discount.
