Zell am See-Kaprun Facts

With 14,000 beds and two million overnight stays every year the Zell am See-Kaprun area is one of the major tourist centres of Austria.

Skiers have a choice of 132 kilometres of runs to enjoy and activities and entertainment away from the ski pistes as well.

Chicken Jam Zell am See - Kaprun 2008Roxy Chicken Jam

The Roxy Chicken Jam is returning to Zell am See-Kaprun for the coming season, with the second event taking place in mid-December. From December 14-16 some of the best women snowboarders in the world will be meeting up on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier above Kaprun.

Thirty thousand Euros prize money and points on the Ticket To Ride (TTR) Women's World Snowboard Tour are at stake.

The competitors will have a brand-new snowboard park waiting for them with the fresh design of the "Mellow Park". The "Roxy Glacier Park" joins the "Easy" and "DC Central Park" as part of the more than 30,000 square metre "Mellow Park" development for snowboarders.

The Zell am See-Kaprun ski area has announded the opening date of the resorts as November 17 for the coming season. The 'white-start Gletscher Weekend' on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier above Kaprun will kick off the new winter.

The resort is organising an "open-snow clubbing" with DJ Gordon Edge providing the sounds from dusk until through into darkness, and a mass of new equipment available for testing.
