Vorderlanersbach is located where the Tux valley turns towards the Hintertux glacier, while Lanersbach is a little further on along the valley. Both are small settlements set in spectacular mountain scenery and with good access to the skiing in the region.

Vorderlanersbach has the Rastkogelbahn, which links into an area of easy red and blue runs and to the Penken ski area. Lanersbach is at the base of the Eggalmbahn cable car and lift system, which is a separate ski hill but links into the main area and is included on the ski passes.
